The Real-Time Systems Lab is part of the Computer Engineering Institute of Technische Universität Darmstadt (TUD). It is

• a full member of the Electrical Engineering and Communication Technology Department of TUD and
• an associate member of the Computer Science Department of TUD.

Furthermore, our Lab is a member of the following TUD Centres of Research Excellence:

• Computational Engineering (CE)
• Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt (CASED)

It is our research mission to

• develop, tailor, and integrate software engineering methods, languages, and tools (domain-specific, COTS, ... ) and to
• develop and apply metamodeling and model transformation tools for the above mentioned purposes.

With a special emphasis on model-driven software engineering techniques for embedded automotive software. Being a member of the OMG, standards like MOF, UML, OCL, and QVT play a key role for all kinds of research activities at our Lab.

The head of the Real-Time Systems Lab is among other things

  • IEEE VL/HCC Conferences, and
  • EATCS/EASST/IFIP ICGT Conferences
• organizer or PC member of these conferences and workshops,
• chair of the German Computer Society's Special Interest Group on Modeling,
• speaker and dean for student affairs of the Information System Technology study center of TUD and speaker of the elective Computer Engineering of the Degree Program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, and
• IT Manager of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.

The Real-Time Systems Lab offers a broad range of software engineering and programming courses for the following study programmes:

• computational engineering,
• electrical engineering and communication technology,
• industrial engineering / electrical engineering,
• computer science,
• information and communication technology, and
• information system technology.
