P2P-Technologies for Distributed IDEs
Participants of big software engineering projects are globally distributed and often belong to different companies. Software is developed concurrently and around the clock. Therefore, coordinating project tasks and maintaining consistency among development documents is a challenging problem. Unlike state-of-the-art systems, which are centralized, we follow a distributed approach that maps the assumed structure inherently.

As a single platform with integrated Commercial-off-the-shelf-tools for all participants, the system will feature the advantages of not displaced responsibilities due to central repositories, access right management over company borders, low administration costs, support for “nomadic” developers, seamless connection (no worries about different VPNs or firewalls), ad-hoc cooperation, interoperability of tools, and optimal use of resources (bandwidth, computing power, human presence, …).
